Month 11

Mental Development

  • Understand the word “no” but not always obey it
  • Combine different sounds and vary the tone of their voice
  • Start to be more conscious of people around them
  • Understand much of what is said to and around them

Visual Development

  • Be intrigued by and be able to follow objects that are fast moving

Growth

  • Weigh about 8.7 kg if she’s a girl or about 9.4 kg if he’s a boy
  • Be about 72.8 cm tall if she’s a girl or about 74.5 cm tall if he’s a boy

Motor Development

  • Start to cruise around furniture and walk with support
  • Move from sitting to crawling and back to sitting with ease
  • Drop objects on purpose
  • Cooperate with dressing by actions such as putting their arm through a sleeve

Social and Emotional Development

  • Show affection to parents and regular caregivers
  • Start to develop independence and try to do things without help
