Mental Development

• Respond to their own name
• Begin to respond to “no”
• Respond to sounds by making sounds
• Babble chains of consonants
• Find partially hidden objects

Visual Development

• Have developed full colour vision
• Have mature distance vision
• Be able to track moving objects well

Growth

• Weigh about 7.6 kg if she’s a girl or about 8.3 kg if he’s a boy
• Be about 67.3 cm tall if she’s a girl or about 69.2 cm tall if he’s a boy

Motor Development

• Sit without support
• Drink from a cup with your assistance
• Roll both ways – from stomach to back, and from back to front
• Support their entire weight on their legs

Social and Emotional Development

• Respond to other people’s expressions of emotion
• Use their own voice to express joy and unhappiness
• Try to attract attention through their actions
