Is it necessary to transition my baby on to the Stage 2, follow-on formula after 6 months if they are already settled with the Stage 1, infant formula?
Stage 2 follow-on formula is for older babies from 6 months who are being introduced to solids, however if you and your baby are happy with stage 1 infant formula they can continue to use this until 12months. Please contact your healthcare professional for specific advice for your individual situation.
How can I transition my baby from one formula to another?
It is recommended to transition from one formula to another through gradual bottle by bottle weaning process. A sudden switch to another formula type may can lead to fussiness, feed refusal and sometimes constipation. Introducing the new formula for the first feed of the day when the baby seems particularly hungry may reduce the risk of potential fussiness in the evening. Substituting one bottle each day with the new formula over a period of 5-6 days will help your baby in completely changing over to the new formula. Another option to transition could be to offer alternate bottles of the new and old formulas to your baby.

Preparation and Storage
What is the ideal temperature of water to use when mixing formula?
Pre-boiled lukewarm water is ideal for mixing our products. Alula Gold AR formula should be made using completely cooled (20-25° C) water to prevent it from thickening prematurely.
Can I prepare formula in advance, how long can I store it for before use?
Ideally, formula should be prepared just before feeding. If preparing formula in advance, it must be refrigerated and used within 24 hours. Any left-over feed or any feed left at room temperature should be discarded immediately.
Please visit https://www.meandmychild.com.au/feeding/bottle-feeding/storing-formula/ for more information.
Can I freeze infant formula?
We have not tested the safety and efficacy of our products after being frozen, therefore we cannot recommend freezing it.
Can I feed more than the feeding guide provided on the can?
Feeding guides on pack are provided as a guide, so your baby may need more or less than the volume indicated. Consumption patterns of babies can vary significantly and therefore monitoring of their growth and development is important to ensure they are receiving adequate nutrition. Further information on recommended maximum intake consumption for your baby should be assessed and discussed with your baby’s healthcare professional.

The product looks and smells different-why is this?
Will my baby accept and tolerate the formula with this change?
Some babies are happy to drink any formula they’re offered, but others are less ready to change. You may find that your baby may better adapt when the new formula is introduced gradually.
To transition from your regular formula to a new one, you can choose any of these options:
- Introducing one bottle of the new formula at your baby’s first morning feed or when they seem really hungry. This could reduce the chance of your baby being fussy in the evening.
- Offering alternate bottles of the new and old formula for 4-5 days.
- Replacing one bottle each day with the new formula. Keep doing this for 4–5 days until your baby has completely changed over to the new formula.
