Product Updates
Alula Gold Soy – Product Update
Alula Gold Soy is stepping away from Australian shelves. While we’re sad to say goodbye, we’re incredibly proud of the care and quality it’s offered families over the years.
Why is Alula Gold Soy being discontinued?
Alula Gold Soy is being discontinued following the closure of our specialised manufacturing facility in Mexico. This facility was uniquely equipped to produce our soy-based formula to the high standards that we require. As part of commitment to safety and quality, we have not yet identified another facility that meets our standards for production and ingredient sourcing. We understand that this may be disappointing news, and please know that we are continuing to explore options and will only consider reintroducing the product if we can ensure it meets the trusted standards expected of us
How much longer will it be available?
Availability may vary from store to store, so we recommend checking with your local store for the most up to date availability. We anticipate some stores may run out of stock within the next 2 to 4 weeks, while others might have limited quantities for a short time after that.
We recognised that transitions like this can sometimes cause concern, and our Careline team is available to assist with any questions you may have. If you child is currently using Alula Gold Soy, we recommend speaking with your healthcare professional to explore suitable alternative feeding options that best support your child’s individual dietary needs.
For further information, please contact our Careline on 1800 552 229
PLEASE NOTE that our Careline team is unable to provide information on product availability in specific store locations. We recommend contacting your local retailer directly for the most accurate and up-to-date stock details.
Alula Allergy – Product Update
The new-look Alula Allergy is now rolling into stores! Expect to see it back on shelves from Monday, 4 August 2025.
Where is the new-look Alula Allergy now made?
Alula Allergy is now manufactured in Spain. We appreciate your patience during our transition from our Mexico manufacturing site to our new manufacturing site in Spain.
Has the formulation changed?
While Alula Allergy is now made in Spain, the formulation remains the same. However, you may notice minor differences in the powder’s appearance, such as a slightly different colour or texture to what you have previously been used to.
Please note, while there are no changes to formulation now, there will be minor recipe updates coming soon. For more information on what these changes are please call our Careline on 1800 552 229.
Alula Allergy’s feeding guide has changed, why?
The new-look Alula Allergy is now made in 30mL increments.
After listening to feedback from parents, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, we’ve updated the feeding guide and scoop size to allow for smaller volume preparation, helping to reduce waste when smaller amounts are needed.
Please ensure that you have read the feeding guide of our new-look Alula Allergy before preparation. For further assistance, please contact our Careline on 1800 552 229.
Can I use the bigger scoop from my old tin?
No, it is important that the new-look Alula Allergy infant formula is prepared with scoop provided in the tin, unless advised otherwise by your healthcare professional.
Please ensure that you have read the feeding guide of our new-look Alula Gold Allergy before preparation. For further assistance, please contact our Careline on 1800 552 229.
I have noticed that the new look Alula Allergy has a printed wraparound label?
That is correct. To ensure product was back on shelf as quickly as possible, we have temporarily used a wraparound label for the tins of our new-look Alula Allergy you will see arriving into stores from early August which is now manufactured in Spain. Moving forward, we will be returning to our standard printed tin.
The label looks different and not like the other Alula labels, is this product genuine?
Yes, this product is a genuine Alula product and manufactured to the highest standards. Regrettably, the wraparound label has been applied in a way that has caused some distortion due to the tin’s ridges, rest assured that the product remains fully compliant with all health and safety standards, with no impact to its quality or efficacy.
Why has the name changed from ‘Alula Gold Allergy’ to ‘Alula Allergy’?
We have removed the word ‘Gold’ from the product names of our specialised infant formulas to make them more identifiable to parents/carers from our standard (non-specialty) infant formula ranges.
Does the new look Alula Allergy still contain DHA and AA?
The new-look Alula Allergy contains DHA and AA from Algal sources and does not contain fish.
Is Alula Allergy suitable for both vegetarians and vegans?
Alula Allergy is suitable for people following a vegetarian diet. However the Vitamin D present in Alula Allergy is sourced from Lanolin (sheep’s wool) and would not be suitable for those following a vegan diet.
Where can I purchase Alula Allergy?
Alula Allergy is available at Coles, Amazon, Chemist Warehouse, and selected pharmacies nationwide.
Please visit our Alula Allergy product page where you can find further product information including nutritional information and feeding guidelines.

How can I transition my baby from one formula to another?
It is recommended to transition from one formula to another through gradual bottle by bottle weaning process. A sudden switch to another formula type may can lead to fussiness, feed refusal and sometimes constipation. Introducing the new formula for the first feed of the day when the baby seems particularly hungry may reduce the risk of potential fussiness in the evening. Substituting one bottle each day with the new formula over a period of 5-6 days will help your baby in completely changing over to the new formula. Another option to transition could be to offer alternate bottles of the new and old formulas to your baby.

Preparation and Storage
What is the ideal temperature of water to use when mixing formula?
Pre-boiled lukewarm water is ideal for mixing our products. Alula Gold AR formula should be made using completely cooled (20-25° C) water to prevent it from thickening prematurely.
Can I prepare formula in advance, how long can I store it for before use?
Ideally, formula should be prepared just before feeding. If preparing formula in advance, it must be refrigerated and used within 24 hours. Any left-over feed or any feed left at room temperature should be discarded immediately.
Please visit https://www.meandmychild.com.au/feeding/bottle-feeding/storing-formula/ for more information.
Can I freeze infant formula?
We have not tested the safety and efficacy of our products after being frozen, therefore we cannot recommend freezing it.
Can I feed more than the feeding guide provided on the can?
Feeding guides on pack are provided as a guide, so your baby may need more or less than the volume indicated. Consumption patterns of babies can vary significantly and therefore monitoring of their growth and development is important to ensure they are receiving adequate nutrition. Further information on recommended maximum intake consumption for your baby should be assessed and discussed with your baby’s healthcare professional.
